In the U.S., 7 to 8% of the population will experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in their lifetimes—between 23 and 26 million people. We need more professionals who are trained to recognize and treat PTSD effectively.

The dangers of untreated PTSD are severe: between 50% and 66% of individuals with PTSD also battle substance use disorders, and 52% develop Major Depressive Disorder. An estimated 27% of individuals suffering from PTSD attempt suicide.*

MISSION: We are committed to improving the lives of a multitude of individuals living with PTSD by expanding the reach of evidence-based treatment options, leading to lasting positive change.

We do so by subsidizing affordable, high-quality training in evidence-based treatments (EBTs) for licensed mental health clinicians, psychiatry residents, and students pursuing graduate degrees in mental health disciplines- social work, counseling, and psychology.

Vision

  • We have a vision where every person suffering from the effects of trauma has access to a range of treatment options where they want it and when they need it.

  • We seek to partner with organizations and settings where EBTs are not readily available, including community mental health, college counseling centers, rape crisis and domestic violence agencies, and others.

  • As new innovative interventions are established, we seek to partner to increase access.
