The Gavin Farrell Foundation seeks to increase access to life-saving treatment by:
Increasing the number of licensed clinicians who are trained to deliver EBTs.
Increasing the likelihood that mental health clinicians and other professionals will suggest EBTs for PTSD for clients suffering from PTSD.
Disseminating information about evidence-based treatments (EBTs) for PTSD and their effectiveness to the general population, including individuals coping with PTSD and their family members.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
Increase the number of licensed clinicians who can confidently and competently deliver EBTs for PTSD to their clients with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Increase the number of mental health clinics, treatment programs, and other community health settings that can provide these treatments.
Increase awareness amongst providers, clients, and their families of the effectiveness of EBTs for PTSD.
OUR STRATEGIES:
The Gavin Farrell Foundation:
Subsidizes low-cost, intensive trainings in EBTs for PTSD to licensed mental health clinicians, psychiatry residents, and students pursuing graduate training in mental health disciplines.
Through intensive trainings, supports clinicians to develop confidence and competence in delivering EBTs for PTSD.
Partners with institutions of higher education including NYU Silver School of Social Work and the STRONG STAR Training Initiative at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to offer trainings.
