“I am enormously grateful for the excellent consultation and training I have received in this program. I work in an outpatient clinic in a community setting with patients who have experienced immense psychological trauma and tend to have multiple diagnoses. CPT for PTSD is an effective treatment for traumatized patients because it addresses key problem areas without requiring people to directly revisit the entirety of their trauma. Equally helpful is that this treatment can be administered to patients with suicidality and other comorbidities. Seeing my patients’ trauma and mood symptoms improve with this treatment has made me more hopeful for them and increased their hope about living a fuller life. This training has made me a better Clinician.”

2019-2020

CPT Training at NYU Silver School of Social Work

In 2019-2020 the Gavin Farrell Foundation partnered with the New York University Silver School of Social Work through their Lifelong Learning office to offer comprehensive CPT training to licensed mental health providers and student trainees working in community-based settings in the metropolitan NYC area. Attendees of this program participated in a workshop + learning collaborative model, which included in-person workshops and weekly case consultations with a CPT expert to support their CPT delivery. As a result of this initiative, licensed clinicians working with under-resourced communities were able to provide first-line treatment to their clients with PTSD.
