Screening & Assessment
Primary Care PTSD Screen is a 5-item screen designed to identify individuals with PTSD in primary care settings.
If individual indicates they have exposure to a trauma and answers yes to 3/5 symptoms further assessment using the Life Events Checklist and PCL-5 is warranted.
Life Events Checklist (LEC-5) is a self-report measure designed to screen for potentially traumatic events in a person’s lifetime.
PTSD Checklist or PCL-5 is a 20-item self-report measure that assesses the 20 DSM-5 symptoms of PTSD.
PCL-5 Scores between 31-22 is indicative of probable PTSD
PCL-5 should be administer as part of a PTSD assessment and weekly during treatment
